A dental crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” of sorts that is placed over a tooth. There are many reasons patients require dental crowns, here are the most common:

To restore an already broken tooth or a tooth that has been severely worn down due to bruxism (teeth grinding) or poor oral health habits.

Dental crowns can also be used for children suffering from tooth decay; a crown can save a tooth that has been so badly damaged by decay that it can’t even support a filling.
