In our Arden Square Sacramento family dentist office we are always talking with kids and parents alike about the importance of preventative dental care.
While sometimes the simplest of tasks seem to take a backseat to more pressing concerns, brushing and flossing should be a regular part of the daily routine. Sacramento Family Dentist Says Brush You Teeth!
The Partnership for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives, along with the Ad Council and leading dental health organizations including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and America’s Tooth Fairy to name a few, have launched a national campaign to improve children’s oral health.
This inaugural national multimedia public service campaign is designed to teach parents and caregivers, as well as children, about the importance of oral health and the simple ways in which they can help prevent oral disease.
Did you know pediatric dental disease is 5 times more common than asthma and 7 times more common than hay fever?
The connection between oral health and overall health is one we as dental patients are only beginning to learn more about. We need to talk to our doctors and dentists more, and our doctors and dentists need to communicate with us more too.
Just don’t dismiss the adult and kids dental health & overall health communications that get sent our way – we need to open up and take some time to educate ourselves – if not for us, for the children!
Next time you pony up to the sink with your youngster, maybe bring it back to the old school and show them this 2 minute Looney Tunes video to keep them on the clock!
